diet tips #1 : bloated tummy

as everybody knows, im not a skinny chick. i have thick hips, thick waist, thick arms, almost every inch of my body is thick/phat/flabs and whatever you may call it.

so 2010 is definitely a "wake up call" year. from the beginning of the year me and my friends have started to regain our consciousness from eating like there's no tomorrow. throughout the year, we girls have come up with our own method/formula to start dieting. there's a phase where we promise ourselves to drink only mineral water, eat dinner before 7pm, avoid rice and became obsessed with the gym and exercise videos.

we actually succeed, but it was really hard to maintain as we live in different places and environment but until now we did try our best to keep up with our diet promises. but nevertheless, im a proud mama of my girls! we should keep this up!

so now i've been start dieting for like 2 weeks and i manage to shed a few kilos that i will never reveal here.haha. not much difference as im BIG in size and i still have a long way to go but i hope i can maintain this diet longer than the previous one. bleurgh!

so to keep myself motivated, im gonna share some of the interesting diet tips on my blog. yeay! hope the readers will like it and be motivated. good luck darlings!

diet tips #1 : how to beat bloated tummy?

  • Never mix two carbs in the same meal. This means no rice and potato or pasta and potato at once and remember to keep the potion small.
  • Keep an eye for your fat intake. If you cook meat make the meat as lean as possible by cutting off any excess fat and go for low-fat, high protein snacks (nuts and berries).
  • Fibre is good but it can lead to excess gas, so go easy.
  • Smoking and chewing gum are major contributors to bloating as they allow lots of air into the stomache. It's about time to quit smoking fellas.
  • Avoid booze as much as you can as the yeast and sugar in wine are belly bloat's BFF's. Ah! Runnnn!
  • Chew food at least 10 times before swallowing. This speeds up digestion and means you're less likely to swallow air.
  • Eat your food slowly or your tummy wouldn't have time to produce enough acid to digest what you just ate.
  • Lay off the fizzy drinks (yes, no coke, sprite, 100plus and etc). They introduce more air into the stomach.
  • Limit sugar intake especially those in fruits and juices, which can create more gas when they ferment and result in bloating.
  • Steer clear of salt. It causes your body to retain water.
  • Keep calm. Getting stressed disrupts the muscular contractions that move gas through your stomach.

Do Not Afraid To Cheat!
Never be too proud to take a few painless shortcuts to looking fabulous

  • Shapewear is not just for curvy girls. Get a sleek silhouette with a pair of control knickers . They are not nearly as uncomfortable as they look. i promise! my personal favourite is SPANX!
  • Dress for your bodyshape and avoid bright colours that draw attention to lumpy bits. There's a reason black is always in fashion. *coughs*
  • I know it screams painful but trust me, a killer heels will lengthen your legs and give your calves a toned look. If im skinny i swear i'll wear heels all the time. super sex-ay!
  • Give yourself an instant waist by cinching your dress with a wide belt. But beware, right colour and motifs is needed.

Try this out girls! Good luck everybody!

wake up call

yesterday while i was surfing the net my friend junita called me up. we talked about the most common problem women faced. our weight issues! i cannot deny this fact, im a thick woman. my stomach , leg , hands, face, bossom and not forgetting my ass is bigger and way larger than the average person. i've got this weight issue problem since i was in kindergaten. sometimes it bothers me and sometimes i just dont care.
in order to overcome this issue, me and my girls have decided to follow a diet routine. for the first week, we decided to cut off all sugary drinks. we can only consume sky juice and maybe a lil bit of chinese/green tea. we didn't do perfect but we did quite ok. at least we had reduced 50-70% of our normal sugar intake from our drinks. for the second week, we had decided to cut off carbs little by little. first we want to reduce our intake of rice (oh god!this is my weakness) and then we decided to reduced our red meat intake. im not so sure about their progression but i think, all the diet routine had just gone into the drain when im in kuantan. all i do is just eat, sleep, play computer(on my bed) and zero exercise.
when i think about it, i feel mad to myself. why dont i have the strength and willpower like the others? i often google ''body transformation: before and after'' just to get some inspiration but i dont know, it just dont last for long. i salute whoever that had won their battle over their weight issues. perhaps i should start from now. its never too late aint it ?

so yesterday i have come across this article in yahoo health raving about the best and worst restaurants in america. and the outcome is very interesting. so i decided to share it with you :) all the restaurants are graded (grade A to F, A being the best). let's see whether your fav restaurant make the cut ?

SUBWAY (A-)
It offers more than half a dozen sandwiches under 300 calories, plus a slew of soups and healthy sides to boot, Subway can satisfy even the pickiest eater without breaking the caloric bank.

MCDONALD'S (B)
Though not blessed with an abundance of healthy options, Mcdonald isn’t burdened with any major calorie bombs, either. Menu like McNuggets and cheeseburgers are both in the acceptable 300-calorie range.
rather shocking? believe it. one cheeseburger please?LOL

DOMINO'S (C+)
Domino’s suffers the same pitfalls of any other pizza purveyor : too much cheese, bread, and greasy toppings. If you don’t order carefully, you might bag yourself with a pizza more than 350 calories per slice. To its credit, Domino’s does keep the trans fat off the pizza, and it also offers the lowest-calorie thin crust option out there.

BURGER KING (C)
BK pledged to follow in the wake of nearly every other chain restaurant and remove trans fats from the menu by the end of 2008, but so far, we’ve seen little action. Adults can sign on for the Whopper Junior and a Garden Salad, and escape with only 365 calories.

i hope this can help me make my decision on which restaurant to go. starting from tomorrow, i've got to say bye bye to burgers and fries and hello to brocolli and tomatoes.

and the lesson of the day is " thou shall not eat fattening food". haha

p/s: currently listening to ave maria by beyonce :)
